The place: is good. What can I say. Good food and good service. Always crowded...I wouldn't wait for more than 15 minutes...
Overrated and Overpriced: The one hour wait for a Sat. night was expected - luckily it is in the mall so you can keep yourself occupied. Here is a detailed breakdown of the score:
Food - Sadly, the best part of the dinner was the soup - creamy chicken mushroom artichoke - thick, creamy, and the chicken melts in your mouth - very delicious. For the main entree we ordered Hungarian ghoulash and Evelyn's Favorite Pasta. First off, unlike many reviews write, the portions ARE NOT that generous. I esaily finished off the ghoulash. While quite tasty, the noodles were not even close to being "al dente" and the dish was overall a bit too salty. It is definitely not worth $16.95 - I would pay $9.95 tops. Evelyn's Favorite was subpar - the brocoli had a fantastic flavor but the noodles were tough as nails like w/ the ghoulash and the vegetables were scarce - worth $6.95, not $12.95.
The worst part was my Coke - completely flat on the first cup and flat and unsweetened on the 2nd cup. I ended up not drinking any and not paying for it. Even McDonald's gets Coke right.
Service - Ingenuine but somewhat friendly - seemed annoyed at how I complained about the soda.
Ambiance - Nice lighting and decor but spacing between tables was atrocious. We could hear the next table's conversation clearly so privacy/distraction is defnitely an issue unless you manage to secure a booth.
Value - Title says it all - overrated and overpriced - would not go here again.
Was at PF Chang's the night before in West New York; paid a bit more but got a great deal more food and much more satisfying to the tastebuds. Go there instead or if you want pasta, stick w/ the Olive Garden.
