A great place to eat. Out of the way and relaxing. We got the stone crabs as they were just coming in season. Delicious. Would definitely go back.
This was one of the most degrading and depressing dining experiences I have ever had in my life. I have to wonder if the reviews on this restaurant are by the owners, because I found this restaurant to be pathetic. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Sunday evening. I tried to order peel and eat shrimp, and stone crab claws, but I was told that they had sold out of them. After playing order and guess with the waitress, I finally was able to order the fried oyster basket. My diet pepsi was diluted with water and before I could even complain to the waitress, she read my mind as said "Does your pepsi taste flat?" I replied yes and she told me that they were out of diet pepsi and other soda pop. To make things worse, the guy playing the electric guitar and singing was terrible. To compensate for bad music, he increased the volume so loud that you couldn't even talk with others at the table. (He wouldn't make the first cut on American Idol. He was that BAD)
I hope to save other people the grief of wasting their money and vacation on this horrible place. Unless of coures you are a heavy smoker who likes to hang out with the bar fly social set. This place disgust me and I wouldn't be surprised if the kitchen was crawling with cochroaches at night.
WOW !!!! Such a cool spot. Out of the way, extremely casual, music, great drinks/beer and THE BEST GROUPER SANDWICH in the area. Tucked away from the maddening crowd and sitting at the Cortez Kitchen brings images of Old Florida. So worth the Trip. Try it you'll love it.
