Heron Creek Middle School Food Service

This is a community of caring school and you can see this demonstrated through the staff at Heron Creek. Dr. D is a great principal, and the staff respect him. The security is great, and the campus is clean and has the newest technology in use. Although the money may be tight here for things like field trips, science equipment, and art supplies (most teachers have to write grants for extra funds), as it qualifies as a title one school and many of the parents are lower middle class, the school is an A school. There is a high ESE population compared to other schools in Sarasota- this can be good for parents looking for a school experienced in dealing with special needs children. Although the school does off some challenge classes for gifted students, they don't have an established gifted program as of 2007.
