Venue Restaurant & Lounge

My wife and I visited our daughter who is in college at UNL a few weeks ago. She wanted us to take her and her friends out to Venue. She had been there before and "knew" we would love it. Upscale, contemporary, open feel,and a great wine list. She was right. At our table some had steak, some shellfish specials, a pizza, and salmon. Everyone, including my wife and I loved the food. The staff was knowledgeable about the food and the paired wines. We didn't expect anything like this in Lincoln. I know this sounds like an advertisement but ........... what a pleasant surprise!
We would definitely recommend it and will return when we visit Lincoln again.
I noticed someone mentioned the prices being high-not so. In any of a dozen cities I've visited in the last year the prices would have been considerably more. We actually commented at the table about how reasonable the prices were.

We've been to the Venue several time since in opened and the food has been good... but the noise in the place, except for the private room in which one party was held, makes it almost impossible to carry on a conversation. We're not really old folks or hard of hearing, but the sound level is one of the major criteria that we look for in a great dining experience. What's the use in going out with friends and sharing a meal if you have to spend all of your time trying to stare at each other and read lips?

Food was Great!!!: I thought the food was amazing. The portion sizes were good not overbearing but not to small. It was a little more expensive then you will pay at a chain restaurant but you are after all at a fine dining restaurant. Overall I would recommend it!
