| About: | Sushi Sasa is designed to offer Denver the opportunity to enjoy Traditional and "New Style" Japanese cuisine harmoniously beneath one roof. The seasonal, healthy, beautiful and affordable tasting menu compliments the fully functioning sushi bar bridging the gap between East coast innovation and West coast charm. Bilingual chefs man the sushi bar at the rear of the zen-like space and offer up exotic fish and produce from around the world with the heart of the cuisine remaining Japanese. With a wonderful sake and wine list and a cozy downstairs lounge, Sushi Sasa is a perfect place for a business lunch or a nice dinner with friends. |

I took my friends from Hong Kong here and they were stunned at how such a place could exist in Denver. They stated it was on par with the best Sushi they have expereinced - we are talking about serious fish eaters here that travel the world (China, Hong Kong, Japan, NY, LA...). We are lucky to have such a place. This is my new Sushi home in CO.
I have got a tip from the owner of the spice shop just behind the corner. I am so glad I followed it. It turnes out the man knows the spices and he knows good sushi. The interior -- restrained, very well decorated, elegant. Without a doubt one of the most sophisticated meals of that type I have ever tried. Sushi Den is good but Sasa outpaces it like Mercedes 550 outpaces Nissan Z. In my case the service was excellent.
Better than Sushi Den: When my friend Amy suggested that we all meet at Sasa Sushi for dinner rather than Sushi Den because in her opinion it was better, we all crinkled our brow in disbelief. But we tried it this week and over all it was indeed better. The menu is practically identical to Sushi Den, all the way down to the decadent "Big O" but the decor and ambience is much less pretentious and even though it was still quite loud, it wasn't as loud as Sushi Den. We dined in the lower level which was much louder than upstairs. In our party of 6, everything we ordered, both food and wine was phenomenal. Our dinner bill came in just under $250, so I'd say it's a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny. Sushi Sasa takes reservations -- something The Sushi Den does not. Parents with kids: there were no kids in sight in this place, and I was glad to be there with out mine. This is a great date night place. I loved it and we'll be back soon!
