I really wish I could say the same!: Here's the story: I walk into the restaurant and look around for a friend I am meeting, from the back a gal say "I'll be right with you". I say "Great" and I stand there watching her walk around to the tables and back to the back without even glancing up at me. After a few minutes I decide to seat myself. She comes over to the tables apologizes and asks if I would like anything to drink while I wait for my friend. I order a tea, which she brings back fairly quickly. The tea is a slight brown color, but pretty weak looking. I'm thirsty so decide just to drink it. My friend shows up and sits down at the table. She stops and asks him if he wants a drink, he goes for water and she leaves. (This is where it goes way downhill) We check the menu and decide what we want fairly quickly then sit them back on the table and start talking. After a while we are looking around for our waitress who is back in the back at the register again. Several people who appear to work there are standing around in the back, counting money, shooting the breeze, etc. After several minutes we start looking around hoping someone will help us (my friend still hasn't got his water), finally we catch her eye and visually let her know we are ready to order. She comes to the table (without his water) and we both order Jambalaya, easy and quick. My tea is now gone and I give my friend my water to drink. In a reasonable amount of time (I see why now) she brings our plates and informs us that they just ran out of Jambalaya (1pm in the afternoon at a Creole cafe) hands us two plates with a small pile of Jambalaya on them. I guess they scraped the bottom of the pot and gave us what was left She said she would give us something else off the menu to make up for it.... weird but ok. We order the crab cakes. The Jambalaya seems like it would have been really good.... several hours ago! It's dry and obviously a far cry from fresh. Both being hungry we slather it in hot sauce and eat it. Not very appealing. She brings the crab cakes and notices that my tea has been gone for about 20 mins now, gives a refill and sets down one plate of two small crab cakes. She decides we might need extra plates and brings us back to tea cup saucers, no really they were! Finally she brings my friend his water and is confused why he has mine.. My friend grabs a crab cake, still hungry from the Jambalaya "appetizer" and starts in. His facial expression indicates that it's not what he expected. I grab one and put on a "saucer", the sauce has a very strange and not complimentary taste to it. I can't even place it. Even the cakes are smothered in strange sauce they are dry and just don't taste right. The waitress tells us she will take something off the ticket, she comes back with the ticket and says "guess you guys are getting off cheap today"... I am speechless, I feel cheap and dirty based upon what I just endured through their service and food and she has the audacity to tell me we are getting off cheap! Don't think I will be spending my dollars there again.
