Good Cuban food, but watered down drinks. We have been there a number of times because we love the food, but now I know better than to order their mojitos, or for that matter other mixed drinks. At 1st we thought it was a particular bartender, but we've been there on different nights, shift. We noticed that the drinks just didn't taste like they had much alcohol in them, so one night while celebrating my birthday, I ordered 3 mojitos "dry" at $7ea (without the club soda added, thinking that should leave more room to taste the rum). I normally don't drink 3 in a row, but that should have definitely elevated my mood.... but I didn't even feel or taste much rum. I make this drink all the time at home, and even with 1 shot of rum I know what it should taste like. The next time, while waiting at the bar, I tested this theory by ordering a simple drink without all the juices, etc: a classic martini... I watched the bartender pore the drink and everything looked ok, but it tasted watery and I didn't feel that "hit" that a straight up martini gives. The same problem is at their other restaurant; save your hard earned money for the food...now we order bottled beer only. Too bad they have to resort to such measures to make a few more bucks...surely they are raking it in, the two restaurants are always busy. Word gets around...my friends agree with me also.
a great place to eat...: a great place to eat for a wonderful price. i will be back again.
found this place out of luck before it got HUGE. what a prize. being raised around latin cuisine, i was skeptical. but everything i have had thus far has been fantastic! love the steak chimichurri and the garlic shrimp. delicious everytime.
