Had problems when it first started but its all great now. First week opening waitress forgot our order, we stayed and got the meal for free, while ordering some more appetizers and desert.Haven't seen that waitress since. The waiters are all nice and have gotten to know us. Always busy, and probably one of the best places to grab a bite in Auburn. Great decor, like how they have local school gear and other stuff like that up on the walls. And the food for us has always been great. See you there.
Do not plan to go back: On Nov 17, '06 we met friend at the Auburn Applebees. It was a Friday night and we expected it to be very busy. After the normal amount of delays we ordered our meals. The server was very nice. She was busy, but tried to take care of us. The food was very slow coming from the kitchen, but we understood that was probalby due to the crowds. However, when it finally arrived my husband's pasta dish was only luke warm and my chicken sandwich was cold and the bun was crunchy on top (from sitting under the heat lamp I imagine) My chicken was not just room temperature, but was cold, like refridgerator. It appeared to have entirely missed the heating step in the preparation. The server offered to redo my sandwich. It took more than 20 minutes for my meal to return. By then everyone at my table had finished eating and I was full from sharing some of their food. When asked why it took so long to return my meal the server explained that nothing is actually 'grilled' in the restaurant, but only microwaved. It seems that if that is the case, redoing my meal should have only taken a few minutes. Obviously it went to the bottom of the stack and had to once again wait it's turn. Since they were fixing an error, it should have gotten priority and been returned promptly. This was the worst dining out experience we have ever had. I feel the manager needs to improve the activities in the kitchen such as how long things sit under the heat lamp and priorities. There was no logic used by the employees, nor ownership of a problem.
need to improve: Me and my family went to eat at applebee's because we wanted to try Tyler's recipe. We were impressed with the pictures in the menu..looks really good. My pregnant wife whose craving for chicken saw the brick chicken with salad and I ordered the bruchetta burger. when our order arrived the chicken looked pale not as good as in the menu ..We thought that was a FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Our server was not even friendly. I hope the manager will do something to improve this because we really like applebees.
