love the airiness of the place, somewhat quieter, more family friendly. we got to choose where we wanted to sit. menu a little limited than casualitas but the drinks were good, staff attentive and very friendly, one of things i liked was a waitress was holding an infant (during her down time) of one of the customers there. very family happy type of place. the food was great, plantains were tender & sweet. yummy!!! the jamaican patties were mainly if not all meat and not too spicey. i'd like to see more added to menu but this place was about $20 more than casualitas. easier to get to. i still have pam's, paseo, calypso and la isla to check out. see my review in 2-3wks from now.
I visted Casuelita's after roaming in the sun for hours at the Black Festival last year. My mother suggest the Carribean resturant after visting their sister venue downtown. The place was small almost like a cozy cottage. There were a couple of tables and big colorful paintings on the wall. Reggae music graced the air. The staff welcomed us like we were family. Since we were the only patrons in the resturant, the waiting staff greeted us and took our orders pretty quickly. They served us complimentary coconut cornbread and boy was it delicious. It had just come out the oven so it was tasty. It was almost as good as the entree! I ordered bbq ribs, beans and rice and greens. Everything was scrumptious especially the ribs. There was a sweet taste to them and the meat was tender. I washed my meal down with mango punch which was also delicious. I highly recommend Casuelita's!!
