The Georgia Aquarium opened in 2005 as one of the largest aquariums in the world. Located in downtown Atlanta, it is undoubtedly a breathtaking experience for all its visitors. A generous endowment from Bernard Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, makes this dynamic aquarium possible. It showcases exotic sea creatures such as giant groupers, beluga whales, and whale sharks (which have never been seen outside of Asia). With 500 species, you will see something new and different no matter when you visit. In addition, the Georgia Aquarium offers an expansive educational program for students of all ages. Check their website for tours, special events, extended hours notices, and group discounts.

This is a great trip for the family. It is costly, but it can take the entire day to explore. It has many views to the VERY large and colorful tanks. I love the tunnel that you walk through with the animals above you. IF POSSIBLE: do not go on the weekend. It is so crowded that you miss A LOT!
Love it!! Spent over 5 hours exploring and did not get all the way through. My five year old love it!! And our baby was delighted by the tunnel. A bit crowded, but that is expected in the middle of summer break.
Parking was simple and easy. Though best to park down the street, parking is cheaper down the street. Plan on paying 5 to 10.00 for parking. Best bet eat lunch at Burgers and More, across from the parking garage.
Awsome place to ever be!! This place is a good place to take family. And the Coca Cola factory is next door too! We went down to Atlanta for Spring break and we rodde a subway which the kids enjoyed and we went to The Gorgia Aquarium and The Coca Cola factory. We had a spectacular time!
