I feel bad for Doglover1 and her family. Losing a pet is always very sad. I can't begin to know what went wrong there.
What I do know is Woof Dah daycare has been wonderful for my dog, Joey. He loves it there. The staff is always so helpful and upbeat and all seem to really love dogs. When I pick up Joey, I get a full update about his day - whether he was active or sedate, playful or demanding, hanging with the humans, the "cool kids" (regulars) or made a new friend. I am always amazed at how much they know about one dog when there are so many to watch. At work I love to bring up the doggie-cam at lunch or when I just need an upper. I'm happy knowing Joey is getting good care and loving attention.

We thought Woof Dah was wonderful until recently. Our dog had been going there for over a year with no problem. A couple of weeks ago we left him there for a weekend and returned to find him so extremely dehydrated that he had to be taken to our vet for emergency fluids (Sunday) We call several times over the course of our absence and were NEVER told they believed there was ANY problem other than he seemed a bit tired. We had told them he hadn't slept well the night before, but he had been fine otherwise. The same night we picked him up he had to be rushed to an emergency vet (he was in shock)He was diagnosed with Addison's disease and passed away that next Thursday. We don't blame Woof Dah for his illness, but every professional (several) could not believe they had missed the severe dehydration. This is a something that is learned in basic treatment of animals and was completely unacceptable! The owner did not feel that her staff was lacking. If you choose to bring your beloved pet to them, please be aware that the staff is by no means well trained. We have since found a wonderful place to take a new pup and will NEVER use Woof Dah again.

I just wanted to take the time to Thank Woofdah for the care they give my dog. She is like one of my children and I love her dearly. I never have a fear of leaving her with the woofdah staff. Their communication is top notch and being ablie to see my baby on the web~cam when I need too is so nice. I love the attention they give her when needed and how they watch to make sure she is eating correctly. Sometimes she gets a little upset away from her family but woofdah staff help her with peanut butter treats or a good meal of hamber and rice if needed. The baths are great. I have a happy good smellin' dog when I go to pick her up. Thanks woofdah for all of your attention and care for my dog!!

Our staff was in contact with this owner several times each day throughout the stay and we reported our concern that the dog was not eating and seemed to be more tired than usual. The owner reassured us that this dog frequently went long periods of time without eating. She also reported to us that the dog would be more tired than usual since he was awake all night, several nights before as he was having stomach problems. We saw no signs that the dog was ill other than the signs we reported to the owner. We would have been more than happy to take this dog to a veterinarian for an examination.
Jillian, First of all, you know what you have written is truely a stretch of the truth. The truth is that he had not slept well the night before coming to you and I never ever told you he went long perids without eating. What I said was that it wasn't unusual for him not to eat the first day or so he was there. You knew this dog and his personality quite well! He also did not have stomach problems several nights before coming to you. His stomach had been a bit touchy one day. When my husband and I both talked to you at seperate times about why his dehydration had not been noticed, you stated that you didn't go around and check the dogs gums for hydration. You didn't even have a clue there was even a slight problem. The employee who checked Sam out has worked at a vet clinic and saw no problem when he came out with his tail between his legs, head hung with no energy. Granted we were told he was tired, but that's it! We did call several times, however your staff never told us anything that would make us suspect something was wrong. You dropped the ball plain and simple.
