Over the course of four months I began shopping around for a new car. I narrowed my search to several makes/models (Toyota, Nissan and Mazda and Honda). I then decided about the 2009 Pilot which many people are not buying based on the inventory levels on each local dealers lot. From there I began conversations with multiple Honda dealerships in the area. A few have done an okay job of trying to earn my business but my experience with Hubert Vester Honda was sub-par. I drove 45 minutes to visit their dealership and spent more time waiting than actual personal attention was paid to me. I even set a specific appointment time.
So as a follow up, I shared my feedback with one of their managers and received a written explanation that lacked accountability for their failure to assist me appropriately, was full of arrogance, and outright combative...as though I was to blame for doing my part in showing up on time, driving 35 miles and asking questions.
Here was their response to me (verbatim):
"However, much to your calculation that we did not care enough to give you attention, clearly we were busy with clients (and we do our best in serving each and every one). We sold over 12 cars on Saturday in 8 hours, so you can imagine... That is what we sold, not including all of the people we worked that did not buy such as yourself. We did the best we could, and we surely went over all of your questions and gave you info on residuals, pricing and paymens.
We do want to earn your business, but if you are not going to be a happy, completely satisfied customer, we will want to pass. I have done my best on giving you prompt attention online, over the phone we have talked over 25 minutes, over 15 emails and worked in the dealership.
The pricing, rates and incentives are the best in the market. If you do not feel like they are adequate, then I am not sure what to say. It looks like you have simply not found enough value in the Honda product when comparing to other models.I hope that will change and that you will see the incredible deal you are receiving. We're here for you when you are ready."
It does not appear they REALLY want to earn my business! Maybe all dealerships will re-think their antiquated sales tactics/approach and begin to utilize a better style of selling.
Best Car Buying Experience Yet!!: This is a great dealership with really good salespeople. I purchased my new Honda Element from them. I couldn't have asked for better service. It's worth the drive. Don't go to Leith. They are terrible.
