Antiques at Mayfair is a charming, beautifully arranged store that sprawls over two stories. Having moved from its former, meager location on Route 101A, this setting on Rte 101 is better suited to what this business has to offer. Items sold here vary widely, from furniture to appliances, bedding to vintage magazines and postcards. The prices are reasonable compared to other establishments with similar set-ups. The people running the establishment - almost all women - are very friendly and check periodically on you in case you have any inquiries. In one case, a lovely young lady, a college student working last summer, even prevented me from losing my money: I had a $50 bill sticking from my pocket, unknown to me, and she alerted me of it before it either fell out or was stolen. I tried giving her some money as a token of appreciation, but she declined. It's that kind of character you look for in people and places, and Antiques at Mayfair has just that.
