After years of bad experiences with area dentists, I saw a newspaper ad for Dr. Nina Aks Dental. I consider doctor Aks and all of her staff to be a partner in my personal wellness. Dr. Aks knows that what happens with teeth and gums affects the whole body and overall health. He stays up-to-date with the latest information and shares what he knows with me. When I have dental needs beyond regular check-ups, I know the cost before the work begins, the treatment (s) to take place is explained thoroughly, the procedure is described as it's taking place, and recommendations for my comfort following the procedure are carefully presented. I'm also put at ease to know that I am welcome to call 24/7. My comfort is their greatest concern and it's been that way for the seven years I've been going there. I don't want anyone on the staff to ever retire or leave. It is a wonderful, happy environment and I actually look forward to my visits. Dr. Aks is not just an excellent dentist but gifted with artistry in her dentistry. I had no idea a filling could be beautiful. After my first fillings with her I stared at them in the mirror for days after because they looked like real teeth! I had another dentists clean my teeth when I was out of town and they didn't even know I HAD FILLINGS and wanted to know who did the work because it was so good. My entire family has now changed over to her, we drive thirty minutes without traffic one way to see her despite there are numerous dentists within a mile. We have personal friends that are dentists and we still choose Dr. Aks. I have another friend that flies in from another state to see her. She has fixed work that other dentists have done that did not last and in another instance work that we didn't know was incorrect until she fixed it and told us why. She does not hard sell, or upsell you unneccesary procedures, just the opposite, is conservative and tries to save your original teeth. She is particular with whom she hires and her long time front desk person is a joy and pleasure to work with. It is few doctors that have her training and philosophy. She is a dying breed of old school quality with modern technology and the good sense to know when new is not always best.
