Listen, we used to live 75 miles from the real Penn Station and we always laughed at how so many areas of this country use "NY" and other east coast names when developing food franchises. On a hunch we decided to "get a laugh" and pay a visit to what we thought would be just another one.
Well, BOY were we in for a surprise. The first time my wife and I visited I ordered their Italian wedge (we call subs wedges back east) and my wife ordered the Reuben.
I literally sat there in shock. The bread was delicious, the meat perfectly sliced (I said thin...and it was thin) and their fries are something very special to eat!
So we said, "ok, time for the real 'ITALIAN' test"....Some would think that the Italian wedge they have would be the test....No no.....Any Italian worth his weight would tell you it would be none other than the Sausage and Peppers, because that is what Grandma would always make.
PERFECT! I cannot state the emphasis better than that! PERFECT. Go! Go if you really want authentic "back east" type wedges!
Best place to eat in town.... and there are some really good eating places in the area. Parking can be a problem at times.
The best subs: I love their subs. Especially the steak sub. They have a friendly and clean atmosphere. Don't have enough parking space. But other than that their food is great.
