The atmosphere is fun and the salad bar is adequate. Prices are fairly reasonable. I have to say the best thing I have had at CJ's recently is a great "bloody mary".

Run away! C.J.'s is a old Billings standard. Years ago they served ribs and broasted chicken out of a little stand by the A&W, and it "was what it was." Everybody took C.J.'s food home to the family. Maybe 10 years ago or so, they moved into the Mall area, next to the theaters and began thinking they were "upscale." Remember the old steak houses where they "fire your steak when you go to the salad bar?" That's what C.J.'s became. They served a good steak with a small salad bar that featured your standards, and a couple of soups. The prices were fairly steep by Billings standards, but occassionally C.J.'s was OK if you were going to the show. Two years ago they revamped the menu. Everything is a la carte, "read overpriced as hell." The pricing in silk napkin, but the food and ambience are dressed up paper napkin. Avoid C.J.'s, and go to The Rex, The Granary, Walkers Grill or Enzo for the same price.

Excellent Ribs & such: Take out or have delivered the best BBQ Ribs in the entire State of Montana. Could not get enough, a Must stop for us every trip to Billings Montana
