Very Sad! The Cheshire has gone downhill for many many years. It is on it's final lap! The rooms are small and in need of major work. The whole place is musty and the hvac does not work. My last stay the restaurant, pub, pool, garage and wine garden were all closed. The final nail in the Cheshire coffin will be when the Moonrise Hotel on Delmar opens. Good-bye Cheshire, the fat lady is singing!
Great place!: My husband and I spent our wedding night here and loved it. The specialty room we were in was spectacular. Everything looked brand new and very clean. The only down fall to the place was the restaurant. The food was not fully cooked and the service was not good to say the least. As for the hotel staff and room, they were top notch!
Nice place to visit.....well, kinda!: I was really looking forward to our stay at the Cheshire Lodge. My wife and I were celebrating our 3rd anniversary and were going to stay two nights for an in town get-a-way.
The feel of the building really was of a different place and time. The artifacts throughout the common areas gave a real feel for being in England. There were hardwood floors and large woven rugs which appeared to be original to the building. The sad thing was that they appeared to be worn and old in a way which showed that they were not really maintained as well as could have been.
