I had a vet that was charging me 50 cents a needle and $50.00 for a bottle of Vetsulin for my dog's diabetes. It was outrageous!!
I found 1-800-Pet-Meds on-line and they matched any price I found on the web. That meant that I got the needles for 1,4 cents and the Vetsulin for $23.00 a bottle, BUT I HAD TO HAVE VET TO PRESCRIBE THEM. My vet refused...and why not? He'd be losing lots of money and had just improved his office.
I called first four vets listed in our area on Pet-Meds "Find a vet in your area..." and NONE of them would help me. They all refused to work with Pet-Meds even though they listed them for free on their website.
When I finally called Brassfield and talked to Robin I was amazed/ They were grateful to be listed on Pet-meds and had no trouble helping me. Robin said the doctors did not ever intend to make money on insulin and needles and thought it was GREAT I could find a good price. I was flabbergasted. If you had spent the afternoon as I did trying to get this help from other Greensboro vets, you'd understand how happy and shocked I was.
These doctors are wonderful. They care so much. What they did not know, was that I am disabled and could not just jump in my car and run my dog in...which was an issue with one of the vets I tried. They wouldn't help 'cause my dog was not a patient of theirs, so ...if I could hurry down and bring her in, they would charge me a 'new office visit' and then give me the scripts.
I also love Dr. Hodges and Dr. Yerex because they will talk to family members (and the kids) about their dog's condition, and that they are so nice to your pet. I will forever be grateful to them.!! I feel like this office and everyone in it cares for both you and your pets, and they deserve the reputation of the...

The only thing I can say is "Why can't they be here in Niskayuna NY" we are facing the same problem. The price of the Vetsulin is outragous !!! We are going broke buying his meds and special food from the Vet we have. Do you have to feed your dog WD Science Diet food?
