    This restaurant is our FAVORITE place to go for a nice dinner, GREAT atmosphere, and super friendly staff! Tammy & Roger are the best, and all of the staff are awesome too!

    My wife and I visited Galaxy 66 on Valentine's Day 2009. This was our third visit to what has been one of our favorite stops in OC. Now, let me first say that I have "handicapped" this review for the Valentines Day factor. We made reservations for 5:30 and we arrived a bit early. We were seated immediately. Only five other tables were covered at that early hour. Our server, Jeff was clearly brought in to help cover the V-Day rush as he simply presented us with a printed copy of the specials while another server recited them at a table nearby. No biggie. I reviewed their extensive wine list and attempted to order four different bottles of 2002 Cab. Each bottle was on the list and the pricing was reasonable for that vintage. With each request Jeff returned to the table and informed me that they had the label but the vintage was 2004. I finally arrived at a Sin Zin 2006 which was well priced and was the perfect accompaniment to my veal and my wife's risotto. The appetizer risotto was well prepared and the portion was generous. My veal was over cooked but not so severely that I would make an issue. (Valentine's Day Handicap Invoked) In summary I would say that I would recommend Galaxy 66 as it distinguishes itself from most of the beach bistros. I would however suggest that you ask for an experienced server and I would implore them to update their wine list. If they don't I think that it borders on bait and switch as the pricing is appropriate for older vintages than what they will deliver.

    Amazing: What a wonderful restaurant! The staff was knowledgeable and polite. The food was amazing. I had a pistachio encrusted rockfish and my girlfriend had the pork so bucco. Both were amazing! They have a desert called the chocolate box which is to die for... This is by far the best restaurant at the beach. Keep up the good work.
