The atmosphere was delightful, but the service and food left something to be desired. I ordered a very expensive steak salad at brunch ($15). The meat was tougher than shoe leather. The server asked me how my meal was. I told her about the tough meat; she told the chef, but nothing was done to remedy it. She came by three times, but just apologized. I asked for some bread or crackers and was handed a packet of oyster crackers. As I was leaving, I asked for the manager and she simply told me that I should have called her over during my meal. This was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had at a "fine" dining restaurant.

Best place to eat in Hays. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and good food. I'm on business travel and we ate here twice this week. The pesto chicken is good for the low carber's and for the big and hearty you should try the meat loaf - it's HUGE!

I just love Gella's food and all their live entertainment. I think I saw a man named Tim Schumacher playing their one time. He was excellent! He was kind, and very funny. Gella's should definitely have him there again, but most of their live shows are very good. I'll most likely go there again when I come to Hays.
