BEWARE!!! Contractor Robert Clay Moseley of Pangborn Dr, Decatur, GA was hired to work for us, and did not pay his suppliers. Under the mechanics lien law, the state legally could have foreclosed on our home to pay this debt which he failed to pay. We had to pay these charges, even though we had paid Mr Robert Clay Moseley in full per contractual agreement. It was thousands of additional $. If the contractor doesn't pay for these services/materials, they come after the homeowner to force foreclosure to recoup the charges. Get an attorney to read your contract to ensure specs are included to ensure names of all sub-contractors/suppliers to be used are listed and confirm payments made to them before you pay your contractor the amount you agreed upon. This law is on the books in many states, and is designed to protect the construction industry, not the consumer. You will be stuck with the liability if they can't collect from the contractor not honoring the line of credit that was extended. Most of the cast and characters involved in this industry are well aware of this law, but many homeowners are not. Our attorney will read over any future sizable contracts to ensure all sub-contractors/suppliers are declared, and paid before we pay our obligation for any services rendered per contract by any contractor. Be aware of this contractor, R. Clay Moseley of Decatur, Ga, and those like him. You could likely end up paying significantly more than your contractual agreement toward any services/supplies he failed to pay from the total amount you paid him (which included his obligations to pay them out of your total payment) We now have information that multiple homeowners have fallen victim to this contractor in the last few months of 2011.
R. A. Kresse is the worst contractor in Minnesota. He contracted with the SBA to build an unfinished second level on my home for $58,100.00. I paid him over $65,000.00, his partner stole lumber, fireplace was off-set so smoke filled the house when a fire was lit, he left holes in upstairs, so mice infiltrated the house, he didn't use fire and ice on the roof so the house leaks, and he filed a lien for over $17,500.00, etc. Angie recommends this??
Not worth the $$.
I thought it would be great to get "neighbor's" input but it turns out that this was not accurate and the input was not as great or plentiful as it could be. For the cost you could do your own research utilizing the BBB or other sources for free. After interviewing two individuals listed on Angie's List for my home needs I would not recommend this is a reliable source for information.
