My friends and I came in this past Saturday Night 9/26 for my birthday and we had a WONDERFUL time !! There was some kind of private party in the room where we typically have dinner so we were brought downstairs to another room to have dinner. At first, I wasn't too happy about having dinner down in what seemed to be the basement, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Our server, Beth, was fabulous and really made my birthday dinner a fun night for me and my friends. She had a great personality and really made it a point to talk to and connect with everyone in my group. Her recommendations regarding the dinner and appetizers were right on and we LOVED everything. We had no issues with any manager and thought he was very nice. He welcomed our entire group upon our arrival, told us that we can go to the bar for a cocktail until the rest of our group arrived. I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience for my birthday. We have decided to make it a tradition to celebrate all of our birthdays at Taos.
I goto taos around once a month and every time I go I have a good time. The last time I went the server told me about specials and we decided to go with the salmon. It was over risotto and vegtables it was very nice and filling. I asked the server to pair it with a white wine they told me to hold on for a second and the manager came over and he picked out a wine for me. I was some chardonnay. The staff was very concerned about about how my experience was. At the end of the dinner the manager came over and let me know that there was happy hour till 12 at night so my wife and i stayed for a night cap. The whole experience was very enjoyable and I would suggest this restaurant to anyone.
I very much agree with patron007. I was there this past sat to witness the manager there by himself drunk and incoherent. He was turning the lights on and off and blasting the music. Oh and lets not forget the drunken happy birthday song he tried singing!! The happy hour there is great cheap drinks and great food at a cheap price. But this place is not getting any better when you have a kid coming to your table every 10 minutes to ask if everything was good or if anything could be done differently?? Can we eat in peace? I for one will only be there on the nights the manager is not thats for sure.

kettlegirl- sounds like you have a personal vendetta against the manager & your comments seem absolutely ludicrous. I've been a regular customer at Tao's for years and have only had a positive experience every time I've been. I'm not sure what your definition of customer service is, but as far as I'm concerned the main reason why I keep coming back is because the manager & staff at Tao's are so responsive and attentive to their customers needs. If you don't want to be bothered you should go to McDonald's so you can "eat in peace." The only thing I can agree with you on is that the food is great, especially the happy hour. For those of you NOT interested in responsive management then this isn't the place for you. On the interim, if it is, and is just important to you as great food & a nice atmosphere, then Tao's is definitely the place you want to be!
