    To sum up Brix:

    This place is phenomenal.

My girlfriend had the roasted duck leg over lentils, I had a smoked trout over field greens. She has written bar reviews in the past for the Berkshire Eagle, and grew up with a father who was a professional, classically trained chef. We both were raving about how exquisite the dishes were. I'm the type that is bound to die from a vitamin deficiency, as vegetables are the essence of evil in my book, and I enjoyed the bed of greens, onions and potatoes the trout was served on.

Besides a whole menu full of wines, they have a selection of dessert wines, ports, cognac, scotches, grappas and cordials. The $10 wine flight lets you taste 4 different types of wine - we both tried a white wine flight and they were all enjoyable. I also had a glass of Macallan Cask Strength Scotch that was a nice compliment to the vanilla creme brulee, that was presented by the chef herself. The chocolate port the girlfriend had was apparently very good as well.

I'm no wine / scotch or French food expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've never had a better meal in my entire life. The portions aren't skimpy, but not plentiful either. If you're starving and not looking to break the bank, then this isn't the place to go, but if you're looking for quality and atmosphere (the zinc top bar is really cool), then check this place out.
