I have gone to Piccadilly Public House a few times since it has been open. The food is good, the servers are friendly and give great service and the owners have restored the building first class, but stop brewing that swill you call beer and hire a Brew Master.
The beer here is absolutely terrible. I have tried the Pilsner, Brown Ale, and Red Ale, hoping each time that I may have just gotten a bad batch. But no, they are all awful. The first thing that came to mind when I was drinking their red ale was "This tastes like sunscreen." I was very tempted to ask for my money back.
I was visiting Winchester and did a few internet searches for good "local" places to eat. The Picadilly Brew Pub came up favorably several times, so I tried it out.
The food was delicious. I had the catch of the day (sea bass) and Bananas Foster for dessert. It was all good. The service was also great. It was a Monday night so it was not very busy, but I was well attended to. The food came out fast and was very fresh and good.
I didn't try the beer as I am not really a beer drinker, but the drinks I had from the bar were well mixed.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat.
Parking was kind of confusing if you are not from around here (you don't want to park in the wrong place in most downtowns or risk being towed), but I found ample parking on the street.
All in all, a very good experience. I plan to return the next time I am visiting Winchester and I will recommmend it to anyone.
