My wife and I recently started seeing Dr. Traynham after trying for a couple of years to find a doctor we were comfortable with. Until then we did not have a family physician. We were both able to get same day appointments when we were sick and neither of us waited long. Most of the previous doctors we spoke with left me waiting for a couple hours in the waiting room with several other sick patients only to end up with an OK nurse that acts like he or she has better things to do. Dr. Traynham's office schedule seems organized and they have strict guidlines to ensure fast visits with the good Doc herself. I for one appreciate her policy on missed appointments. I agree that she should not be forced to rearrange her whole day because one does not have the respect to arrive at an appointment on time. In turn she also respects my time. I have not sat in the waiting room for hours on end to see an associate or Nurse Practioner. I find it comforting that I get to speak with the lady who's name is on the door everytime I walk in, and I am always treated with dignity and respect no matter the circumstances of my visit.
For the prior reviews, I can only submit that they must not have respected to the rules of the house and have suffered the consequences. As for my experience, top notch all the way.
To me it sounds like I'm reading about someone totally different than the doctor that I know. Dr. Traynham is patient and caring and yes, sometimes I have to wait a little while longer than others, but I have always always been able to get same day appointments. I have been seeing Dr. Traynham since she first opened her own practice and neither my husband nor I would ever think to see anyone else for our family practice needs.
True she had a baby recently, but rather than take maternity leave and not be out of the office and completely unavailable, she brought her newborn to the office and continued to see patients having missed a total of 5 days for the birth of her son.
I have never seen anyone in her office treat any person with the slightest disrespect - due to class, race, nationality, or any other reason.
When she first opened the clinic she did so without any 'regular' patients. She had reached and exceeded her allowable Medicaid patients within a 6 month period -- that's a pretty meteoric rise for any business, especially an incredibly talented doctor that cares and takes the time with each of her patients the way she does.
She is a first rate Family Practice physician who will actually tell you when she does not yet know what is making one ill, but that she will research it, make a referral to a specialist, or anything else needed to make the patient better. She is also more dedicated than any other physician I have seen in many years. (and I've seen alot of them)
Regarding referrals: she has called to inform us of results the moment she gets them, even if during a party. If there isn't an immediate call back it is generally because the results are not yet available, especially when there is nothing abnormal about the results. I have only ever had 1 other physician personally return a call regarding results: abnormal or normal.
When you say she is unprofessional - that is extremely unfair. What difference does it make if she is wearing a $500 suit to have some sick little kid spit up or throw up on her or whether she wears slacks and has her hair down, but not in her face. Again - that is more time spent on the patient than on herself. If she were unprofessional, what one would see is revealing private health information with no regard for the patient; using foul language in front of clients and kids, keeping files where anyone could read private informaton regarding another patient, etc.
It sounds like previous reviewers simply needed someone's character to bash so they could feel better about themselves.
The #1 person healthcare responsible for making certain that I stay in good health is myself. I cannot and do not expect any doctor to be responsible for me. If required, we learn together: sometimes she teaches me, sometimes I teach her, sometimes both of us learn from another source - but she is the most dedicated and eager person I have ever met to help overcome health obstacles, especially for those who cannot do it themselves.
Dr. Traynham is truly an excellent, dedicated, professional, caring and intelligent physician and her staff is very friendly. They always know who is calling before I state my name; they remember preferred appointment schedules, and whenever possible they give the requested time and date to the patient. They ALWAYS see to the needs of the patient before their own
It is extremely doubtful that one can find a doctor's office anywhere that can provide better quality, more professional, yet caring, friendly and certainly more knowledgeable service anywhere.
I went to Dr. T when she first opened her doors. I don't think I waited that long to see her. She'd just had a baby and seemed more interested in breast feeding than seeing patients. I let that go, since it was after all her baby. I was then told that I had to pay for the visit, no problem. However, since they had not set up their machines for bloodwork, etc...I'd have to come back, and yes, pay again. I never returned.
