Total trash! They gave my dad $300 for his collection when I wasn't there to go with him and protect him. Two weeks later they had one stamp from that collection in their store for $1200!
We're not stamp collectors but my wife likes to buy some colorful stamps for our seven year-old niece. My wife never bothers with any real collectible stamps diving instead into the "nickel apiece" bins and we rarely spend more then five bucks. Everyone in the store has always been patient and gracious.
My point? I have a tough time seeing people who'll spend their time on nickel-and-dime purchases like ours cheating a widow.
Hey I don't know where you are coming from I have been dealing with Carl and Todd for more than a few years, spent allot of money with them and have never gotten the opinion that I was ripped off. First off, if your dadâs collection was so great than why didnât you keep it. Secondly the price you see listed on there product is the Scott catalogue value, which I have never paid! Secondly you would have never been allowed to look in their safe, nor if the stamps were removed from your dadâs album you would not be able to positively identify the stamp you looked at as your fathers.
In closing I can only speak from my personal dealings with them and this you can take to the bank
1. They both treat me with respect and have never taken advantage of me, or for that matter my family when they purchased gifts for me from them.
2. Next time you decide to rid yourself of something spend a little time doing some research on the subject prior to disposing of it.
3. GET A LIFE!!!!!!
