Unbelievable Cajun food and we've been to them all in the area, who lay claims of them being Cajun. Papa is loads of fun always with a joking attitude. He will pick up the guitar and play along with the musicians (he's not only an accomplished Chef, he's a darn good musicians well. Plan to wait as the parking lot resembles a tail-gating festive event all year round. There's always 20 - 30 people on the parking lot with their lawn chairs, music and wine or beer (BYOB is the case). People come for a four state area and we met these 6 individuals who travel all the way from Louisiville, KY which is a four hour drive. They said they travel to Papa's every 6 - 7 weeks, a 4 hour drive to and from and it is worth every minute. You can expect a movie star or two or a professional music entertainer and a their tour bus could arrive at any time. I rate it, 6 stars !

Traveled over 1 1/2 hours to dine at Papa Boudreaux's at the insistence of friends. I cannot express how great the food was. Sincerely, it was almost as if I was back in Louisiana again, only much better. You will be presented recipes for 4 - 5 star quality, without the bow-tie atmosphere. We had, Garlic Shrimp Cheese Grits topped with a 1/2 pound portion of wild caught Creole fried catfish. We also had a large, I mean, a very large bowl of seafood Gumbo. The shrimp was not these small or popcorn shrimp rather extra large shrimp, authentic andouille (cajun sausage) .... unbelievably scrumptious. We also ate some of the best fried soft shell crabs and a very large serving of red beans, rice and sausage. What was unusual about this was Papa uses 3 different kinds of sausage: smoked, Kelbasa & andouille which makes quite a combination of flavors for a different kind of red bean dish I have never had before. Music was great and the atmosphere was more than Mardi Gras festive. Papa comes out to the tables to check on everyone to make certain they have enjoyed the food as well as entertains his clientele with jokes and laughter. Indeed, a great dining experience!

Best New Orleans cuisine around. Expect Papa to come around and greet you as you enjoy the fine cajun food.
