We had them do flood recovery in a very large new house. they messed up in proving our insurance information which caused our insurance company to decline our claim. After getting the run around from their billing department, they were able to provide an invoice 5 months after service was obtained. even though billing problems and our denied claim was their fault, they put a lien on our house. They have since corrected their errors with our insurance company and were then paid promptly. TERRIBLE COMPANY. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!
I've had one flood at my house, so I can't compare these guys to any other company to say whether they are better or worse than average. One of their laborers did break a leg off an expensive coffee table by dragging it across the carpet in a hurry, and the supervisor who later came back, stupidly used gorilla glue to "repair" the damage on a piece which had never seen a drop of glue, and which was designed to be disassembled in case of a move.
My biggest complaint is their contract. READ THEIR CONTRACT BEFORE YOU HAVE THEM DO ANY WORK. Don't listen to their explanation of what the contract means. Their contract absolutely strips you of any and all rights you might have to complain about anything, and gives them the right to charge you anything they want to. It's the contract from Hell.
If you call them in an emergency, you might want to call somebody else, too, whose contract won't make you want to puke when you read it. Of course, all of these contracts might read the same, since you're standing in sewage and probably will sign anything to get help immediately.
They got here quickly, worked hard, had good drying equipment, and seemed to know what they were doing. The size of their bill was stunning, but my homeowner's insurer paid them after paring the bill down slightly.
I had a pipe break in my home a couple weeks ago. No one answered at the first company I called, then I called A-1, Ron answered and was at my house in 30 minutes. A few minutes later a big truck with crew members showed up. They got to work and sucked up all the water and cleaned and sanitized my basement. I was worried about all the keepsakes down there. They dried and cleaned all my belongings. Renee, the crew leader did a wonderful job and it felt comforting to have a woman on the crew. Two days later the other company called me back. I would absolutely recommed A-1 to my family and friends. Thanks A-1 for a outstanding job.

Kenneth was made whole his structure was dried! Next, of all it is A-1's understanding from one of his family members that Kenneth's table was in ill repair before A-1 even arrived, but Kenneth's bill was discounted for the table to prevent disatisfaction. Kenneth got his home repaired and was extended credit without a credit check, all the work was done on his word that he had an insurance policy that would pay. In situations like this A-1 typically requires no upfront money to get started! All the pricing was based off industry standards and that's why his insurance company paid nearly the entire bill (minus his deductable). Furthermore, Kenneth signed off on the pricing standards the restoration industry uses; the contract does not give A-1 the entitlement to charge what ever it wants. A-1 does not even make up its own pricing! The pricing is made up by insurance company representatives that report to the software producer what they are willing to pay. When someone calls A-1 for a water damage they are getting a company that carries full insurance, moderen equipment and well trained employees. The water damage trucks and equipment that typically responds to an emergency call cost over $115,000.00. Kenneth had to sign a Satisfaction of Completion for A-1 to be paid. If you have a water damage you will be treated fairly by A-1.
