    Good smoked flavor to the meat. BBQ sauce was flavorful. The cole slaw is unbelievably delicious and unique. Beans are very sweet and delicious. Be sure to end your meal with his unorthodox German chocolate cake. I left bursting at the seams and completely satisfied. Very, VERY solid BBQ joint. Highly recommended. Good luck to you Stephen!

    After trying the three BBQ places in Minden, Stephen's Down Home BBQ wins "hands down". The ribs literally fall off the bone, the brisket and pulled pork are out of this world, and the BBQ sauce --WOW! Everything served is homemade and you feel like you're at home in the restaurant. Nicely decorated and the owners are really interested in pleasing their customers. They advertise it as "the best kept secret in Minden", but you'd be crazy not to try it. Secret or not, I plan on telling all my friends about the great food and fun in store for them at Stephen's. Good Luck Guys!

    The absolute best brisket and sausage I've ever had, and I've had a bunch. I can't wait to try the ribs now. If they're as good as the brisket and sausage, I believe I'll throw my smoker away. Wish they were open today :(
