Will not return, After paying our $200.00 and tipping the 10%, the waiter followed us out side and asked for more tip. Of all the nerve. Sorry the great cooks in this place have to put up with this staff. Good luck if you chance this place.
Eating at the Osaka Japanese Steak House sushi bar on a slow weekday night was truly a painful experience. From well below average service from an apparently unhappy gal to a hip-hop, low-class sushi chef who belongs more on the 3rd shift at the local DQ rather than at an, ostensibly, upscale restaurant, this was an especially unpleasant experience. This is not the way a sushi bar is supposed to work.
The sashimi was well coated with lemon juice. Need I say why? The unagi was not fresh. It turned to "mush" instantly when I took a bite. Even the steamed rice which I requested and paid $2 for was cold and had been in the steamer a long time. As empty as the place was, it still took 30 minutes to fill our rather small order.
Osaka is a sad excuse for a sushi bar. I've eaten at sushi bars all over Asia, including Japan, and in many big cities in America. This ranks pretty near the bottom only possibly outclassing a dismal establishment in an Indonesian hotel.
If you want sushi, please don't waste your money. Bad service, below average food and an atmosphere of despair, this place, Osaka Japanese Steak House, is begging to be put out of its misery.
Save your money!
We went to Osaka for Mother's Day. We were seated withing about 10 minutes at a Habachi table with people who had been sitting there already for 20 minutes who had made a reservation.
After a 20 minute wait we were able to get a waitress who we immediately gave our order to which included a bottle of plumb wine, our dinner order and 2 ice teas. After waiting another 30 minutes for our drinks, I got up and asked what was going on. The next thing I knew the owner/manager showed up with a bottle of plumb wine.
Now during this time tables all around us were filling up, being serves their drinks, soupsm salads and the chefs were showing up and cooking their food.
We just sat and sat. My wife maybe drank too much plumb with waiting and got sick. Do not drink wine without any food. Another 30 minutes went by. During that time others at the table placed Sushi order that were delivered wrong. The owner/manager came out and yelled at the server at the table, yes infront of all of us.
My wife got sick, we had been there an hour and a half and now had iced tea and plumb wine. The others at the table had numerous sushi dishes delivered which were still wrong and had to be taken back over and over again. The owner came out and argued with the others at the table about crisp shrimp or crab which is what the people ordered but was not delivered. You can tell the difference between crunch and boiled crab, even I know that.
I was sitting at the table, my wife was out in the car sick and I just canceled the order before the chef made it to the table. The owner wanted to charge me anyway.
We will avoid this place like the plague from now on.

I would like to start by saying, the waiter should never have followed you out to ask you for more money, however, the lowest tip you should ever leave is 15%, and that is with service that is not good. Servers only make 2.63 per hour so they depend on customers to be able to pay their rent. servers also get taxed for the amount of your bill so leaving less than that you are making your server pay you for the privilege of serving you... this being said, I do not like Osaka either.
