Thank goodness, Fort Wayne has this place!: As a kid, my parents would take us to the French Market down in Columbus and we would come home with the car loaded with imported teas, spices and what have yous from the Continental Mall there. To our disappointment, they closed and rumors that Anderson's in Lima are closing ~~ so my husband and I are worried about where we would get our wine and beer. Never fear, Cost Plus World Market have come into the area.
We walked in and found spices, teas, decorative items and pots & pans, and to our everlasting delight, a wonderful wine selection and imported beer selection (even sell by the bottle instead of by the case)! We were in heaven. I bought imported beer, he bought a couple bottles of wine and we bought spices, candles, a suede scrapbook and other items. It was wonderful and we felt like two kids at Christmas party, among all the goodies.
The only thing we didn't like is that they refuse to sell wine from Michigan ~~ it's ok to have California wines but not by Michigan. They only sell imported wines, Indiana wines and California wines. That was a bit of a disappointment because we want to get this Traverse City wine that we had tasted at a Fort Wayne restaurant not too long ago. That is the only disappointment of the day.
If you're looking for a great shopping experience, don't hesitate to shop there! It's wonderful and clean and full of exciting flavors. We will definitely shop there again and will be bringing my parents along the next time!
