User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWent to new Sammy's location on Trop. Great garlic fries and chili fries. Very good Chicago dog, chili dog ok but bun little too moist. Kids liked corn dogs. Don't get the large drink in styrofoam cup, a thumb thru the cup driving down the road is like wetting your pants. Will go back soon.

FINALLY: I have been searching for years for this joint. I had given up on all the places that claimed to have "REAL" Chicago Italian Beefs. Every single one of them was worse than a let down... Until now. After 2 years of driving past, thinking I'd TRY it then thinking "Why Bother... It'll be terrible and I'll be disapointed" I finally stepped through that magical door. Ordered almost everything on the menu for carry out and brought it back to work. The first thing that struck me as I waited for my order was that the place LOOKED right. Not fancy. Kinda Divey. Clean but worn. Just right!!! Then... It SMELLED right... Like a real Chicago corner beef place. I started to get excited then checked my optimism and waited patiently expecting to be disappointed. To my surprise... For the first time in 12 years of searching for a Chicago Italian Beef that tasted like an Italian Beef from Chicago... I found it! I now have a terrible tummy ache because I have just eaten 1 hotdog, 2 Beefs w/ Hot Gardinare, Chile cheese fries and some fried mushrooms!!! It was like going home for an hour!!! THANK YOU DOG HOUSE CAFE!!!!
