I wanted to thank you for the absolutely divine and delicious cake. It was beautiful and we received so many compliments. It was a ladybug theme with strawberry inside and bananas - fantastic. It was even better looking than the picture I sent you.

Baptism Cake for my 5 year old Son. On June 7, my son was baptized. As usually, I called almost last minute to order a cake. My family and I always go downtown on Saturdays to get chicken salad sandwiches from Just Desserts, so where to get a cake for our special occasion was a no brainer. When I arrived to pick up my cake, I could not have been more pleased. It was beautiful. It had some little crystal looking stuff on it. The crystals literally made the cake sparkle. I had about 25 people at my home after the baptism for refreshment. No one left without commenting on and having a taste of cake. Not only was it perfect, but it was so delicious. I asked for a cross on the cake. But through Ms. Jae's creativity, it was so much more than I could have imagined. Of course like all 5 year olds, my son likes to see his name in print, so I had to cut his name from the cake and freeze it so no one would eat it.
As for our Saturday lunches at Just Desserts. We always order the chicken salad or the egg salad. Both are the best, but as Ms. Jae knows my real motive for coming downtown on Saturday is to get my usual dozen of those delicious wedding cookies. I have learned that you have to get your wediing cookies quick because they sell out soooooo fast. Better still just call and order so you will know exactly when she's going to bake them. This is the best bakery. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Just Desserts from the bottom of my heart. You made my family and me very happy.

I have had the opportunity to try cakes from Just Desserts at several functions and decided to order cupcakes from them for a baby shower at work since they were so tasty. Boy, was I very disappointed! First of all, I ordered 20 cupcakes and 5 of them looked different from the rest (not at my request). That in itself I could have overlooked but the cake was dry and did not taste as fresh as I expected. I was very surprised because the cake had always been so fresh and moist on the occasions that I had them before. I was hoping to order from them again but I probably will not considering I paid 27.00 for 20 cupcakes and the quality was not up to par. I will go to Walmart or Harris Teeter instead where they are cheaper and tastier. However, I will say that on the two occasions I called the store they were very courteous and helpful. I did not call to complain because I feared they might think I was trying to get something for free out of it- I just wanted great cupcakes, oh well :(

On the contrary Melanie, you should have called Ms. Jae and told her, as soon as you tasted the cupcakes. She would have brought you a fresh batch right out right then, b/c that's how she is. She would be disappointed knowing that you were disappointed. In fact, I suggest that you still call her. I've gotten cupcakes from her too, and this surprises me, b/c her stuff is fantastic! Cupcakes, pies, cookies, and the like. I have always been very happy with everything that I have gotten from the shop. And she always tells me if there is a problem to tell her, and let her make up for it. She wants her customers to be happy. I will mention this to her, but if I were you, I would definitely call her. And let her win you over! She's never let me down, and she would be sad if she knew that you were unhappy. Call her! :) I'm Pinky and I'm a repeat customer!

I've been to the cupcake place mentioned above, and found their cupcakes dry and not all that consistently tasty. In fact, once while deciding if I would order cupcakes (made into a cross or a helmet) for my kid, I heard one of the bakers in Just Desserts recommend the cupcake shop up the street. Another customer in the shop also overheard and immediately told the baker to stop recommending it. I concurred. Just Desserts can do anything with or to a cupcake. The yellow, carrot, and redvelvet are fabulous! According to Ms. Jae, she plans to unveil eight different flavors (in bulk orders only) by the end of the year for weddings and such. They will cost the same as the other place, and her regular cupcakes of the same size cost less than the other guys. They even do jumbo cupcakes! Stealthkils, in the future, don't recommend another bakery on someone elses review site. Its in VERY poor taste!! Ms. Jae, I will always be your customer as long as my family stays on the military base. We love the Military Discount too. Your customer service is unbeatable and your products are wonderful and just like my mom would have liked to make if she had been a baker! You and your staff are fantastic. Keep it Up!!!
