Sportswest... not to crazy about it but it's fun if you're there to have a good time. I don't like their consesions though because one time I went there was a hair in my nachos and they messed up our drinks and they didn't give us a refund on our drinks either! So instead of having wonderful cheezy nachos and refreshing Dr. Peppers and Cokes we had hairy nachos (and the cheese WAS NOT fresh at all) and ice teas... not the best time there...
I will take my family to Sports West simply because of the previous negative review stating the customers were "cut off" after 3 people consumed 4 PITCHERS of Bourbon and coke. This sounds like the kind of place I want to take my wife and kids. If I want to be around 3 people drinking 4 pitchers of bourbon I will take my kids to a bar. I just called and reserved a lane for my sons and some of their friends.
The night out we recently had was not the 1st trip for any of us to Sports West Bowling Alley; however, it will be the last. We paid $12 per person for a 2 hr block of "Lunar Bowling" and the only thing lunar about it was how dark it was after they turned the lights off. No blacklights, lazers, or other "effects" just darkness and whatever funky songs that were chosen to be played on their jukebox. We decided to go with our usual bourbon & coke pitcher special they had. $8 a pitcher, not bad..... at first. I opened my tab and my wife & I had our first before my buddy showed up. The first pitcher was good, the 2nd a little weaker, tasted more like coke but ok. My buddy; who use to bartend, opened his tab, & the 1st pitcher he bought had maybe 4 shots in it and the 2nd even less than that. We were then told we were "cut off" because we only had 3 people and we had drank 4 pitchers (over 1 1/2 hrs). We were dumbfounded that we were being cut of after "X" number of drinks and we still had over 30 minutes of bowling time left! We were by no means, drunk, disorderly, obnoxious, rude or disrespectful towards anyone, but we reached "X" number of drinks and once you reach that number, whether drunk or not, you're cut off.... period. So, if you like to bowl and dont like to drink then this place is OK. If you want to bowl 5 or 6 games over some pitchers with a group of friends, I'd reccommend finding another venue to spend your hard earned $$$. We went bowling to unwind, relax, and have a good time. That did not happen.
