a beautiful restaurant, but I was never blown away by the food. However, for what you get and the price point, it's worth your time. no real complaints. it's byob. I'm sure if you go there with a group of friends you'll have a good time.

I went to Taka Saturday night showed up at 11:00pm asked for a table for 4 the host nastily informed us the kitchen was closed spoke to us as if we were committing a crime by showing up at 11.... as we were walking out a couple walked in and got seated i curiously asked why they got seated and i got yelled at by two rude men...... They sarcastically remarked next time come with reservations...... let me tell u i will never go back!

This past Saturday night my girlfriends and I went to Taka. This was to be my 5th time at the restaurant in which I was always satisfied with the food and service. Unfortunately for us, we were given the worst server in the universe.

First we ordered the a few appetizers and the special dumplings. Our appetizers came out but the dumplings were missing. After waiting patiently for a few minutes we inquired about them to which the waiter said, "ok" and disappeared. He came back a couple minutes later to inform us they were out of dumplings. Ok, fine.

Next, all of our meals came out--I had the special halibut and everyone else had sushi. My halibut was dry as a bone and the sauce was stuck to the fish with a film on it; it was obvious it was sitting under the heater. So, I told the waiter and he said, "ok" and took the dish away. I'm not sure where he was going but I guess his word of the night was "ok".

He came back and told me they were making me a new one. So, I said, "ok!". I sat there for 10 minutes, my friends had just about finished their sushi and no halibut! So I decided I'd rather have a big piece of chocolate cake at Old Man Rafferty's than eat here. So I walked over to the waiter and told him I didn't want the dinner. He was angry with me b/c he was going to have to pay for both meals. (not my problem) So, he begged me to take it home (yuck!) and said, “it's probably done”. Low and behold it was sitting under the heater AGAIN!

He was neither apologetic nor sincere about caring. Lastly, he offered us dessert and he promised to "hold a knife to the chef to make sure the dessert comes out right". Not only did I feel the chef would be offended by that comment because, in essence, it was the waiter's fault originally, but it was completely uncalled for. My blood started to boil and I had to walk out.

Overall, everyone else's food was fine (as always) however the server was the most arrogant and unprofessional one I've met.

I would suggest training the staff on etiquette and how to handle problems.
