I love Jorge, his humor, his haircutting and styling skills, and the location. It's great for students and adults alike, with professional performance and reasonable prices. I'd recommend 171 Hair Studio to all of my friends and family.

I have been going to Jorge for over 10 years. I've spent a fortune at some big salons in New York and San Francisco-- and Jorge does a much better job. In fact I think he once worked at a famous salon in New York. He takes his time and really pays attention to detail. You never feel rushed. The place is clean and well run. There focus is on making the customer happy not on cycling through as many clients as you can in a day. The only problem is that it's hard to find. It's behind a little clothing store on Franklin Street.

best haircut I can remember: Jorge Esquivel works magic on my fine, limp hair. He makes it fuller and healthier looking, and his precision cut means my hair always looks freshly brushed. He is a rare stylist who can cut without a part, giving me flexibility about how I wear it.

Here's how good he is: I have lived in Ohio for 18 months, and I schedule my trips back to Chapel Hill around my appointment with Jorge. I went to him on the recommendation of friends who have quite different hair -- longer ir shorter, thicker, coarser -- and he is great with them, too.

On a final note, he gives you the cut you want, not the cut he thinks you should have. But I have such confidence in him that I have followed his lead, and I don't regret it. Give him a try. You won't be disappointed.
