I agree with Txstwang2, it is a great restaurant and is a wonderful treat. I have recently located to the valley from an area with quite a few Thai restaurants and Thai Red Chili's can hold its own.
This is my new favorite eating place in McAllen. It makes my mouth smile. The waiters explain thoroughly should you have a question. Fresh herbs and spices makes this establishment stand out above all others. You can choose how spicy you want your meal prepared which is always appreciated. I ate here 3 times last week and each time was a culinary treat. I ate duck and my husband had lamb last Friday and once again we were totally satisfied. I believe it's easy on your wallet and the ambiance is very relaxing!
Ok, I'm going to give it to you straight. I decided to try this place last Friday for dinner. High expectations in hand, which were inspired by rave reviews, I was excited. My excitement was met with disappointment. The food was not made with fresh ingredients, the chicken was dry, and it had an overall bland taste with a Tex-Mex undertone. To be fair, my standards for Thai are high (I've spent some time in Thailand) and this is the best you are going to get in the Valley. The sad fact is with a lack of competition, these guys are half-assing it. If you are a true fan of Thai cuisine save yourself the time and skip this one.
On a good note, the service was excelent!

I feel like we ate at two different restaurants. I would never use bland to describe their food. It was anything but Tex-Mex in my opinion.
