Ono - Grumpy: disclaimer: I was a little tired and grumpy before going to Bar Crudo.
The ono I have to say was one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted. The seasoning was suttle and very flavorful. The lobster salad was interesting, and the oyster pleasant. I am a Hog Island fanatic though. The upstairs was quite loud and we were positioned next to the speakers in the corner which need to be upgraded a bit. The place is adorable, tiny, and a little cold. I'm sitting at the bar the next time I go. Overseeing shucking and crudoing while sipping rose champagne is more my bag. I don't know if going with more than 2 people is recommended. I could see that as a great afterwork, unwind, drink, eat by yourself kind of place. Check it out. See for yourself. Tunnel Top is right next door and the Belvedere Crans are impressive in both flavor and in size.
Great place: If you like raw fish and shellfish, you're going to love this place. Amazing crudo, even though i wouldn't recommend the sampler, but stick to the spicy tuna, and the other 2 who are not in the sampler. This is simply delicious!
The space is tiny, so you'll feel very cosy with your neigbhours, but hey, this is why we call it a "bar".
The wine list is decent. Nothing amazing, but it's not the kind of wine list you can't afford. Most of the wines are below $50 (at least the whites) which is very nice these days in a San Francisco restaurant.
I totally recommend this place. I'm going back there for sure in the next 4 weeks.
Really Fabulous: Amazing wine list, and beer selection, not to mention the food. That says alot especially since usually I don't like fish.
