As a native of Orangeberg, SC, I have to say that the Brown Derby is a historical landmark of our city. I am a 70's baby and they have been around since before I was born. If you like authentic southern food, like to be fed, and fed well...this is the place for you. I live in Georgia now and no trip home is complete without stopping by for a meal or at least dessert. And when I say dessert, I mean the sweet potato pie. It's sold by the (wide) slice, but anyone who's sampled their pie knows that you don't buy a slice...you pie the entire pie! You don't have to take my word for it. Go and try it out for yourself.
The food there is fi...: The food there is fine, but it could be better. It is also very expensive and not worth the cost.
Mom & Pops place with the best authentic bbq/hash & rice! They have been here for YEARS and will remain long after the others are gone. A bit of advice, call ahead or wait in line.
