I went to Galway tribes 2night for the first time ever. I had heard alot of good things about this place, but i hadn't gotten around to visiting yet. To my surprise this place was a very interesting place. The restaurant was a breath of fresh air compared to corporate america's other restaurants. You just get so tired of the regular same ole same ole restaurant regurgitation these days.
The food was absolutely to die for. I started my dinner with something that i was shocked by and just had to try, Irish Corn dogs(WOW!) The flavors blended so well. I followed by the Dijon salmon special which was great as well.
So all in all i would recomend this any one and everyone. This place is defenately worth the drive for great food and beer alone, not to mention they have live music as well. Hope to make a trip back soon.

About a month ago my family and i decided to try Galway tribes for dinner. I fell in love with this restaurant the instant we walked in through the door. From the decor, the live music, the absolutley delicious food, and the knowledged and welcoming staff we were more than pleased with our visit. I highly recoment making the drive to the south suburbs for this wonderful place. You wont be sorry. i have made it a weekly tradition to come back ever since.

Summary: Go for a drink and the music, but not for a meal.
I give the atmosphere and live music 4 1/2 stars (patio is great, Katie Sullivan played the patio on the Sat night we were there and she was delightful, beer selection is decent), but I rate the food only 2 stars. While the menu is sizeable, the food was average at best. I had the Irish Whiskey Chicken, my husband had the Fish and Chips and we were not at all impressed. Also started with the Thai Shrimp, that was quite boring.
I recommend visiting the patio and having a drink, but go elsewhere for dinner. Maybe order an appetizer. The giant nachos looked really good at a neighboring table, but we did not taste them.
