It's the best small (roughly 300+ seats) concert venue in the Midwest. Admission is always affordable and seating is close to the stage. Performances are intimate. And the yearly Folk Festival, held at the nearby Hill Auditorium, is 2 days of nonstop pleasure.
Note that the directions above are all wrong--it's nowhere near Keech St. It's between William and Liberty on Main St. Can usually park directly behind club in surface lot or in structure on William 1/2 block E of Main. Nice venue--more a listening room than a nightclub, with seated shows.
Like Watching A Concert In Your Living Room!: The Ark is amazing, hosting mainly Roots music, and having patrons sit no further than 20 yards from the performer.
If you love music, you will love the Ark.
