Last year at this time, I was visiting friends in Minneapolis and I was called by another therapist that I knew whom worked there to see if I could come in and help them out because they were understaffed completely and had a massage party come in. It was a mess. The women who were there were extremely upset because they had purchased a party for massage, facials and pedicures. Well, all they had was ONE massage therapist and I agreed to come in on my VACATION and help these people out. When I arrived, I had to convince the women to stay and told them we would give them each a 90 min massage in lieu of a pedicure or facial. they stayed and I performed THREE hours of massage. I was compensated $40 and was told that they would send a check to my house because they had no cash in the spa (the women paid with credit cards). After returning to NY, I was expecting a $95.00 check ($60 of which was my TIP from these women). And nothing came. After two weeks, I began contacting the owner constantly. It wasn't about $95.00, it was about being a good business owner and having respect...especially for someone that went out of their way to save a spa's ass that she didn't even work at! It is one year later and after multiple attempts to get the money owed to me, I have not seen ONE penny of it. This spa has no ethic. They may treat the clients well but, behind the scenes...its an entirely different story. I would never recommend this spa to ANYONE based on their business practices alone! I am a business owner in NY and I'm ashamed I even helped this woman out! The phone number on their website no longer is in service, I had assumed they closed down. I'm not sure. Maybe Karma came around and bit her in the ass ??
