After several trips to this establishment over the past few years, the quality of product and service has gone down TREMENDOUSLY!! The following is my most recent experience: 8/8/09, arrived @ 12:45pm, seated by 12:50pm, placed our order @ 12:55pmâ¦â¦constantly updated every 15-20 min. that the food was on its way out. After 45 minutes, we requested a manager, and still no response. 10 minutes after requesting the manager, the meal came out......1:50pm, 55 minutes after we placed our order! That wasn't the worst....when the food arrived, it was cold and not the way we had ordered it. A manager was requested, AGAIN. Finally, she came out to address our issue.......somewhat apologetic, but not really genuine. She offered us the option of taking the food home that was prepared INCORRECTLY complimentary (which I found out later), and to provide us with a gift certificate to return to the establishment at a later date. After waiting 90 minutes and having to feed the parking meter during our extensive wait, my husband and I were really hungry and decided to just stay. After allâ¦.how long does it take for Chicken & Waffles and Steak & Eggs?!! Once we FINALLY got our 2nd attempt at them providing our meal @ around 2:20, it was still sub-standard and luke warm. After all of this, we didn't want to frustrate ourselves any further by getting them to simply provide us with what we were paying for........we just wanted to get out of there. I understand a bad day every now and then but, for the entire restaurant to get turned over (all the customers that were there with us had been served and left) before we got our food, is ridiculous. Upon completing our meal, which took almost 2 HOURS to obtain, and the wait staff clearing our table, the server was AUDACIOUS enough to bring us a bill! I'm thinking if it's taking over 90 minutes to get a meal from an establishment, they should DEFINITELY be compensating the customer for their time due to the lack of competence on their behalf! At this point, my husband took the bill up front and requested the same manager who offered to comp. the meal and provide us with a gift certificate. Needless to say, she didn't come and address us, but sent a staff member out to inform us that she would comp. the meal, but would not be providing us with a gift certificate, as we chose to stay and allow them to try and provide us with a corrected meal, which didn't happen, EITHER! After being a customer for the last few years, I'm VERY disappointed in the turn this establishment has taken on the QUALITY of food it provides, the CLEANLINESS (there have been flies and gnats constantly, the last few times I've been there!) and the CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was really hoping things would turn around there.......now, I regret having purchased their gift certificates. I would give them away, but I fear this scenario could potentially be the recipients experienceâ¦â¦
While staying in "the D" for our anniversary, my wife & I made it a point to stop here for breakfast and were very pleased. The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was very clean and had a cool & trendy atmosphere, and let's not forget the food - OFF THE HOOK! I'd recommend Frank's Stuffed French Toast and their homemade turkey sausage. DBH&G was definitely a treat and a nice way to wrap up our romantic get-away. We will definitely be back!
Oustanding valet parking also which I forgot to mention. Will have your car returned to you after an outstanding meal in nano seconds.
