Burgers, shakes and soda, the fast food staples, are all found here at great rates. Shake Shack offers cheerful interiors, bright exteriors and outdoor seating for its patrons hungering for its quick creations. What could be better on a hot, summer day than an iced tea and Ice-cream! The surprise here is the wine. Reds and whites are available by glass and bottle. You can take a draught of icy beer too, as you relax in their happy, family-friendly atmosphere. On your way out, inquire about shirts, caps and other paraphernalia to remind you of your outing. If you want your meals fresh, you might just have to wait for their next cooking time, so be prepared for a walk around the park.
The burgers were perfectly delicious. However, the extra money for the shack burger wasn't worth it...couldn't really taste the special sauce and that was the only difference between it and a regular burger. The fries were excellent as was the concrete I had: hot fudge, peanut butter, and bananas. The atmosphere was pretty nice for a fast food burger joint.
This is truly a great place if your idea of a good time is waiting on a very long line with a bunch of yuppies who wouldn't know a decent burger if it killed them. You'll pay about $12 for a meagre lunch with shake (the best part) but you'll be in great company if you like Seinfeld rejects. Danny's other restaurants, particularly ribs at Blue Smoke and the fine cuisine at Eleven Madison are exquisite beyond compare, the best in the city. But in Shake Shack, he's getting too much credit. Try the burger at Five Points for a few bucks more, a Papaya Dog or Crifs for a much better dog. The fries are better at Blue Smoke by far.
What can I say? No matter what time of day, there is a long line. This is one line that my friends and I wait so patiently to place our order, then another line to pick-up.. We travel all the way from the UES and go almost religiously on weekends
I always order the double shack with cheese, fries, lemonade & forzen custard. I take small bites and slow slowly to savor the taste.
