My daughter and I chose this place totally at random, because we were staying in the West End on our final night in Dallas before she had to head back to school (she did an internship in Dallas for the summer).
WOW. What a great place. The Margaritas were outstanding. The appetizer dish (camarón y cangrejos ennegrecidos) featuring brown rice, shrimp and crawfish in a galic sauce was incredible. My daughter had fish tacos and I had an enchilada. Both were good, but the appetizer was great.
The service was very good, and the owner stopped by to see if we were happy. We had a very warm feeling about the place, and we enjoyed it very much.
This is more like some sort of Mexican-Southwestern fusion. Not that great but edible. Pricey for the quality of food. This restaurant just did not do it for us at all.
OH My Goodness... I wasn't really in the mood for Mexican Food when I walked in there but I kept an open mind and I was blown away. Starting with the hot and spicy salsa...it wasn't enough to drive me away from it but it was enough to make my nose run and want some water. It was delish!
I order Tacos and they were wonderful. Although I expected to get a typical taco with meat, cheese, lettuce and so but it came out with just meat and cheese and I was surprised with how much flavor it boasted. It came with a side of refried beans (which I usually hate) but they were also wonderful, slightly creamier than normal but they drew in a wonderful garlic accent with some additional spices I couldn't put my toungue on.
The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was wonderful and a delight, RJ even opened the door for us. Even though it was raining, they opened up the patio for us so we could have a drink out there and be able to smoke. I would definately revisit them and I would recommend it to anyone.
