I was very happy with this resaurant. After the reviews, I was a little skeptical on this place, but after being there, it was worth the money.
My wife and I went to NY for our honeymoon (from Louisiana) and this was one of the places I decided to go for one of our dinners.
Money: This was the most expensive place we ate in NY (and we went to a few very nice restaurants). With both of us, appetizer, main course, desert, sparkling water, we left there spending right at about $200.00. Not only do you pay for the view, but the food as well.
Food: WOW! Well first we had appetizers. I had the crab cake and it was delicious! It didn't knock my socks off, but it was very good. Next, was the STEAK! OMG... my wife and I both had the steak and it was literally the most delicious, tender, juicy, tasty steak I have EVER had... It literally melted in your mouth. You could pull pieces off of it like a beautiful roast. That right there was worth the $200.00 we paid for dinner. After that, the waiter brought us a free chocolate cake with icecream because he heard it was our honeymoon (wasn't very good, but it was the thought that counted). By the time we got done, we had NO room for our cheesecake that we ordered. The only thinh I did not like about this, was that we spent so much money on the food, and they gave us 2 small round pieces of cheesecake insteak of the whopping big NY style cheesecake you think of. I got it to go, but I never got around the eating it, and when my wife did, she said it was nothing special.
View: We went at night, but the view was still good. It wasn't the best view in the city, or the clearest, but it was very nice. Only 48 stories (I believe) up, so you are not looking over any buildings, but more so looking at other buildings.
In all, I would go again just because of the steak! It was life changing! For visitors of NY and residents, I would def. recommend this place for special occasions.
LOVED IT!!!!!!!! The food was great. The view of the city from a rotating restaurant was amazing. Did I mention the food was great?
To start, we had a wonderfully romantic evening out at the View. We had made a reservation, so when we arrived we were taken to the upper level, which seemed much more romantic than the "Walk-In Level." The food was very good, and the view was excellent. The only minus I can think of, was the price was a little steep. We had the Prix-Fix dinner with drinks and spent right at $200 including tip. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Would visit again for another romantic evening out!
