This is one of the best places here in El Paso. Their rice is always fresh and does not have an old taste like in other places. My husband and I love sushi and have tried many places even when we have traveled out of town but Yamato by far is the best. My husband even got the sushi chef to come to our house and show him how to make sushi it was great. And now my husband makes delicious sushi. Awesome place, nice people, great service. If you haven't tried it yet you really need too.
Its a great place: I love this place, Every time we go its always good. The service there is some times slow but overall its good. Its my favorite sushi place in El Paso
So far, best sushi in El Paso: We've tried a bunch of different sushi restaurants since moving to El Paso, and Yamato is by far the best so far. Very pleasant decor, and the menu is fun to look through (color pics of everything!). Best of all, the sushi rice doesn't have the weird taste that most of the sushi restaurants here have -- it tastes like the sushi rice you would taste in other cities (New York, London, Chicago, etc). The sushi rice in most establishments in both El Paso and Juarez have a distinctly different flavor than anything I've tasted before, but, thankfully, this is not the case at Yamato. At Yamato, the sushi rice tastes normal and the fish is fresh. I don't think you can ask for much more in the middle of the desert.
