User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe've eaten here several times. We went the first time just because it was close to home. What a pleasant surprise! Great restaurant, excellent original choices. Nearly gourmet status delicious food. Very nicely served, (attractive servers).
As for the bar, they mix our favorite drink, Brave Bull, that's tequila on the rocks in an Old Fashioned glass with JUST ENOUGH Kahlua to begin to look like a Coke. Dee-licious. We'll continue dining there.
Reasonable Prices, too!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAs a local I know Avalon well. It's a great restaurant with wonderful food and service with an excellent, tasteful bar. Jazz several nights of the week in the evening.

I don't know why they called this place 'bar and grille', because it's more like a dinner house. The food and service are wonderful. I had one of their paninis, which was very good, and my husband had a salad (very generous portion and lovely greens). The dinner menu looked great although we didn't try it. It's not cheap (dinner entrees averaged about $20) but you can order anything off the lunch menu during dinner. The patio is really nice but we didn't eat out there because it was raining. The room is really pretty and relaxing. There was a piano but nobody was playing it when we were there. Just a nice place.
