Whataburger

What I like about Whataburger is I can get a hamburger at 8 in the morning through a drive thru. Their burgers are big and juicy. I do wish Whata would get a mandolin slicer for their cooks though. I'm not crazy about the large chopped onions and the poorly sliced tomatoes on the burgers. The lettuce is also floppy iceberg. Their fries are a waste of money. Another area they need to improve. The onion rings are real, but often the oil is not to temp and they come out greasy. I have more than once gotten my food in what can best be discribed as a gommy coated sack shelacked with some strange syrupy liquid. Not particularly apetizing. They like steak and shake make burgers to order and the service is extremely slow as compared to other fast food restaurants. Plan on about a 10 to 15 minute wait at the window. I don't go there often. Only when I want a hamburger through a drive through after I get off the graveyard shift. The staff seems a little disconnected. I think they really hate their job. That's unfortunate. The original Whataburger we had in Largo on Missouri avenue back in the day was great and a happening joint. I guess times change. Prices are also higher here and burgers artery clogging big. They usually go overboard on the condiments. Let them know what you want. I would go here if you want a burger at the odd hours and you don't have time for a sit down like Denney's. IHOP may just get you served faster, but then you have to tip and their burger platters are ginormous. Big Burgers, Slow service, 24 hour Drive thru, medium to higher prices. Check your bag for grudge on the outside.
