The best Polishes in Town: You ain't had a polish until you had "the Village Polish"
Hot Dog of Old Gary: Chuck Wheeler has been a steady supplier to the community of Gary of Vienna Beef Hot Dogs for over 40 years. It is the first hot dog that I had as a kid and still taste like it did over 30 years ago. The place is a simple small old RV that was converted into a hot dog stand in the local first strip mall and has only been serving hot dogs, polish, potato chips, and pop. It is all beef and both the polish and the hot dog are served on freshly steamed buns. Two dogs with everything (if you are from Chicago tune out now) - mustard, ketchup, sweet relish, chopped fresh onions, hot sport peppers, chips, and medium pop for under $5.50. It is a great place to grab lunch and being in the strip mall a place to sit or window shop for shopping later after work. It is my favorite child food stands and I am glad it is still here to share with my kids.
